Your pilot creates the itinerary for your tour based on weather and glacier conditions to give you the best possible viewing opportunities. Fly by high alpine lakes, “icefalls” hanging from sheer cliffs and some unforgettable remote peaks and glaciers in the Juneau Icefield -- places like Wonderland, Glacier King, the Mendenhall Towers, and Devil’s Paw. First your pilot will show you these incredible sights from the air, and then you will make two glacier landings so you can experience the wonder and fascinating glacier-scape first hand! During these two landings you will learn about the geological and environmental processes that create moraines (rocky debris), crevasses (deep cracks or fissures), seracs (those beautiful sharp icy peaks), and the glaciers themselves. Your air tour lasts 50 minutes, with two 15 minute landings for a total tour time of 80 minutes.
