Visit The Mendenhall Glacier, Glacier Visitor Center and hike the easy trails there. You may see salmon spawning in one of the streams! Take a quick tour of the University of Southeast Alaska campus and see the beauty of Auke Lake with the Glacier in the background for a great photo opportunity. Learn about Auk Bay fishing village, and hear how native Alaskans lived and loved this area. View totem poles and find out what they tell us. See the governor’s mansion, built in 1912.
